Are you ready to help us achieve the fastest and most cost-effective path to commercial fusion energy? At Commonwealth Fusion Systems, we are working alongside MIT to utilize groundbreaking high-temperature superconducting magnet technology. Our goal is to build compact fusion power plants that can be deployed rapidly to address global decarbonization. We are backed by world-leading investors and a team of experts dedicated to delivering clean, limitless energy to fight climate change. We invite you to join our mission, where you will find a culture that values integrity, execution, and the ability to solve complex problems through diverse perspectives.
What you bring

In this executive role, you will define and execute the strategy for our engineering and product development processes. You will be responsible for building a world-class infrastructure that enables our teams to design and deliver fusion power plants efficiently. Your core responsibilities include:
- Designing our end-to-end product development workflows, including design reviews, engineering change processes, and bill of materials management.
- Collaborating with our Enterprise Information Systems group to implement and optimize essential tools such as CAD, ERP, and PLM systems.
- Establishing data-centric metrics to continuously monitor and improve our engineering operations, safety culture, and cross-functional workflows across R&D and production.
Requirements
The ideal candidate for this position brings over 15 years of experience in engineering operations and product development. You should hold a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and possess a deep understanding of the methodologies required to deliver complex engineering products. We are looking for someone who has successfully built processes from the ground up, preferably in environments similar in scale and complexity to our SPARC project. You must be comfortable working in a fast-paced setting where speed is prioritized, and you should be prepared to handle physical requirements such as standing or sitting for extended periods. A strong commitment to safety is essential, as you will be working in an environment that involves high voltage, cryogenics, and strong magnets. Proficiency in English is required for this role.
What we offer
We provide a dynamic, mission-driven environment where your work directly contributes to the global transition to clean energy. While we do not have specific salary information to share at this time, we offer the opportunity to work at the forefront of fusion science. Our team members enjoy:
- The chance to shape the foundational processes of a company at the cutting edge of tough tech.
- High-visibility collaboration with our executive leadership and engineering teams.
- A culture that actively promotes diversity and equal opportunity for all employees.
How to Apply
If you are a mission-driven leader with a passion for rapid execution and engineering excellence, we would love to hear from you. Please submit your application to join our team as we work to power the future with clean, fusion energy. We look forward to reviewing your experience and discussing how your unique background can help us reach our goals.
