The role
We are seeking an experienced Director of Engineering to join us on a full-time basis. This is a high-level executive position where you will lead our Core Banking and Growth collectives. Whether you are based in our London office or working remotely within the UK, you will have the autonomy to shape the future of our consumer app experience. This role is perfect for a leader who thrives on building high-performing teams and driving ambitious product goals.
Core responsibilities
- Lead two cross-functional pillars comprising over 70 engineers, providing direct mentorship and guidance to Senior Engineering Managers and Engineering Managers.
- Develop and implement customer acquisition strategies to expand our user base and improve engagement across the entire user journey.
- Partner with product, design, data, and research teams to validate new opportunities and iterate quickly on financial products that solve genuine user pain points.
Skills and experience
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
- A proven track record of leading engineering organizations of 50 to 80 people, including management of other leadership roles.
- Over five years of experience shipping successful, customer-centric digital products within a consumer technology environment.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and persuade diverse audiences in a structured manner.
- A data-driven mindset, allowing you to ground your decisions in analysis and identify the key metrics that drive business success.
- The ability to systematically break down complex problems and make sound decisions when there is no clear right answer.
