We are looking for a visionary leader to help us usher in this new era of borderless, routine access to space.
Role at a glance
As our Director of Engineering for Accurate Landing, you will lead the charge in developing the autonomous technology that allows our spacecraft to land with pinpoint accuracy in any environment. This is a full-time, executive-level position based on-site in the United States. You will be at the helm of our most innovative capabilities, reporting directly to our CTO.
Your impact
- Direct the technical and programmatic architecture for the Accurate Landing systems on our Arc vehicle.
- Build and mentor a world-class, talent-dense team of engineers focused on parachute systems, computer vision, and complex GNC algorithms.
- Coordinate the seamless integration of your team’s hardware and software systems into our production vehicles.
What you'll need
We are looking for a leader who can define the art of the possible. You should possess a strong background in engineering complex systems and a passion for autonomy.
- A Bachelor’s degree in an engineering field or equivalent experience, with at least 10 years of experience in complex systems.
- Proven leadership experience managing interdisciplinary teams and making high-level technical decisions.
- A track record of taking projects from conceptual design through to production deployment.
- The ability to translate complex requirements into reliable, high-performance engineering outcomes.
- Experience in aerospace, robotics, GNC, or embedded software development using Linux and C++ is highly desirable.
- Because of the nature of our work, you must be able to meet ITAR compliance requirements.
Perks and compensation
The annual base salary for this role is $175,000 to $276,000, depending on your experience, skills, and market alignment. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer:
