About the Role
We are looking for a Director of Embedded Software to join our team on a full-time basis. In this leadership position, you will guide the strategy and execution of embedded software for our innovative neural biosensor products. You will be responsible for the entire software lifecycle, from initial design and development to testing and long-term maintenance. This role requires a leader who is comfortable acting as both a mentor to our engineering team and a hands-on contributor to our core technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and execute the firmware roadmap for our device portfolio while ensuring it aligns with our broader company vision.
- Architect and develop high-quality firmware solutions for our neural biosensor devices, ensuring seamless integration with mobile and cloud platforms.
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of talented embedded engineers to foster a high-performing and collaborative culture.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should have a strong technical foundation and a proven history of leadership. We value candidates who bring the following qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, with a Master's or PhD preferred.
- Over 10 years of experience in software development, including at least 5 years in a leadership capacity.
- Deep expertise in embedded systems architecture, C/C++ programming, and real-time operating systems.
- Experience developing firmware for wearable devices or other resource-constrained environments.
- Strong knowledge of communication protocols such as Bluetooth Low Energy.
- Bonus points for familiarity with Zephyr OS, the West build system, the nRF5x series, and Python.
Location
This position is based in the United States and requires an on-site presence.
