The opportunity

We are seeking a Director of AI to join our executive team. In this role, you will be the primary architect behind our vision for hyper-personalized storytelling. We believe that the future of entertainment, whether through text, audio, or video, lies in experiences tailored specifically to the individual user. You will work directly with our Founder to craft the strategy and roadmap that makes this vision a reality, ensuring that our AI capabilities remain the engine behind our company's continued growth and success.

A day in the life

• You will define and execute a comprehensive AI strategy that integrates machine learning and generative models into our storytelling platforms to create deeply personalized user experiences.
• You will lead, mentor, and scale a world-class team of AI engineers and researchers, fostering a culture of rapid experimentation and high-impact delivery.
• You will analyze complex data sets and oversee the launch of new features, ensuring our technical roadmap aligns perfectly with our broader business objectives and entertainment goals.

Who you are

You are a seasoned leader with a deep technical background and a product-focused mindset. You thrive in fast-paced environments and are comfortable bridging the gap between high-level business strategy and hands-on engineering. You possess the following qualifications:

• A Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a closely related field.
• At least 5 years of industry experience working within the AI and machine learning space.
• Proven success in managing and growing high-performing technical teams.
• Expertise in both generative AI and traditional machine learning frameworks.
• A strong bias for action, valuing iterative improvement and the ability to deliver a Minimum Viable Product to drive quick impact.
• Fluency in English and the ability to work in a hybrid capacity, with three days onsite in San Francisco, California.
