Director, Engineering at AppOmni

Key outcomes

• Lead and develop multiple engineering teams responsible for scalable data ingest and security scanning capabilities that underpin AppOmni’s SaaS Security Posture Management platform.
• Drive complex, cross-functional initiatives that deliver high-quality, high-performance code while advancing architecture, development, and DevOps best practices.
• Establish and refine development processes that improve predictability, quality, and reliability across the organization.
• Strengthen monitoring, alerting, and operational tooling to increase system reliability and reduce risk for enterprise customers.
• Mentor engineering managers and individual contributors through structured career planning and continuous performance improvement.
• Collaborate with product, security, and platform teams to identify integration opportunities and share technical knowledge across the company.
• Raise the overall technical bar by serving as a visible leader who models excellence in engineering execution and operational discipline.

Requirements

• At least four years of hands-on software engineering experience with progressively greater responsibility and technical impact.
• At least five years of experience as an engineering manager leading successively larger teams or organizations.
• Demonstrated success building and guiding high-performing engineering teams that deliver large-scale projects.
• Experience working in agile environments that emphasize rapid iteration and delivery.
• Proficiency with DevOps tooling, including Kubernetes, Terraform, Prometheus, and Grafana, as well as application performance monitoring and CI/CD pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, Python, Django, and backend SQL databases in SaaS environments.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills suited to a remote-first, globally distributed team.
• Empathetic leadership approach that sets clear goals, provides constructive feedback, and fosters collaboration across diverse working styles.

Preferred qualifications

• Prior experience building enterprise security products.

Compensation

The annual base salary range for this role in the United States is $247,000 to $299,000. Final compensation will be determined by the candidate’s skills, qualifications, experience, and relevant market factors.
