We are a science-driven healthcare analytics company dedicated to improving patient outcomes through data. As we continue to expand our customer base, we are looking for an experienced Director of Engineering to join our team in Barcelona. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in shaping our technical roadmap and architectural direction while leading our software engineering teams. We value a hands-on leadership style and are looking for someone who is passionate about building scalable solutions and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
What you'll be doing
- You will hire and lead a team of Platform and Data Ingestion Engineers, guiding them toward a cloud-native, agile mindset while providing ongoing coaching and professional development.
- You will collaborate closely with our CTO and VP of Engineering to develop long-range plans for the department, focusing on resource capacity and talent management.
- You will provide direct management to our software development teams, including senior and principal engineers, to ensure high performance and meaningful career growth.
What you'll bring
- You possess at least eight years of hands-on software engineering experience, specifically with big data or complex analytical products.
- You have at least two years of experience in a management role leading engineering teams.
- You are proficient in Java, Python, or Scala.
- You have a strong background in designing technical architecture and scaling cloud infrastructure and big data ingestion platforms.
- You hold a bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or have equivalent professional experience.
- You are fluent in English and ready to work in a hybrid environment based in Spain.
