About the Role

We are seeking a Director of Engineering to join our team in a full-time capacity. In this executive role, you will be responsible for scaling our engineering organization and guiding the development of our consumer-facing SaaS products. You will partner closely with our product teams to define the roadmap, establish team structures, and foster a culture of technical excellence. This is a hands-on leadership position where you will mentor managers, refine our hiring processes, and ensure the seamless delivery of high-quality features that delight our users.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor your engineering team, providing the operational direction and professional development support needed to help members grow in their careers.
• Translate high-level product requirements into actionable workstreams, ensuring your team designs, builds, and launches robust features on schedule.
• Collaborate with recruiting, product management, and sales leadership to build a high-performing, diverse team while maintaining a focus on operational efficiency and customer success.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should bring a strong background in software development and technical management. We are looking for the following qualifications:

• A BS or MS in computer science, information systems, or a related field.
• Over 10 years of software development experience, with at least 5 years of proven, hands-on management experience that includes leading other managers.
• Demonstrated success in building and managing high-performance distributed teams, ideally within a fast-paced startup environment.
• Deep technical expertise in designing scalable, highly available consumer-facing applications using RESTful APIs and modern frontend frameworks like React, Svelte, and TypeScript.
• Extensive experience with database platforms such as MySQL, Postgres, Cassandra, DynamoDB, MongoDB, and Redis.
• Strong proficiency in cloud technologies and at least one server-side language, such as Java, Python, Go, Scala, or Rust.
