The opportunity
We are seeking a Director of Engineering to join our team and report directly to our VP of Engineering. This role is a vital part of our leadership structure, as you will be responsible for driving engineering excellence and mentoring our talented teams. For the first six months, you will be hands-on with our codebase, ensuring you have a deep understanding of our systems before transitioning into a role where you remain hands-on as needed. You will play a key part in our evolution, helping us scale our technology and our people as we continue to support thousands of businesses globally.
A day in the life
- Product Ownership: You will collaborate closely with product teams to define the roadmap, ensuring our technical strategy aligns with customer needs and business goals.
- Technical Leadership: You will guide system architecture and design, review code, and foster an environment of innovation while ensuring our software remains reliable and performant.
- Team Development: You will manage and grow a team of engineers, providing mentorship, performance feedback, and clear vision to help them navigate complex challenges and advance their careers.
Who you are
You are a seasoned leader with a strong grasp of engineering fundamentals and a proven track record of success. You possess the following qualifications:
- Experience leading large engineering teams, specifically those with 8 to 20 members, including managing other leaders.
- A deep understanding of service-oriented architecture and a history of building successful products.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- A growth mindset that allows you to tackle multi-year opportunities and inspire those around you.
- A desire to take ownership of key business verticals and drive meaningful growth.
