Director, Engineering - New Energy Systems at EnergyVault

We are currently looking for a Director, Engineering - New Energy Systems to join our team in a full-time, remote capacity. In this role, you will lead the development and commercialization of next-generation technologies, including hydrogen systems, fuel cells, and advanced thermal devices, helping us shape the future of clean energy from initial concept through to final deployment.

Responsibilities

• Direct the engineering development of new energy systems, focusing on hydrogen production, storage, and fuel cell integration, while overseeing the balance-of-plant components like thermal management and controls.
• Manage the technology roadmap by evaluating emerging generation products for performance, safety, supply chain scalability, and overall cost-effectiveness.
• Define technical criteria and lead system architecture design, ensuring seamless integration with renewable generation, microgrids, and energy management software.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in mechanical, chemical, or electrical engineering, combined with 15 years of relevant professional experience.
• Over 10 years of experience managing project engineering and leading cross-functional teams, specifically within environments involving hazardous materials.
• At least 5 years of experience working with complex, innovative energy solutions.
• A willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 33% of the time.
• The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth corporate environment.
