What does it mean to be a Director, Data Integration at GLS?
The Director, Data Integration is responsible for leading a data integration team to build business-focused information systems that are stable, scalable, and efficient. This role will be responsible for architecture, technology solutions, and services to build and maintain a robust and highly available data hub that will include Data Lake, Data Warehouse, and Data Marts.
How will you drive value within the organization as a Director, Data Integration?
Provide the vision, strategy, and operational framework to deliver data integration solutions that meet business requirementsDevelop and maintain comprehensive data pipeline program for data integration and work with key stakeholders to provide insight to make data-backed decisionsDevelop data standards working in collaboration with the data architecture team in terms of naming convention, storage, design, and deployments for the DWHLead a team of engineers to deliver high quality and reliable data using continuous improvement principles throughout the delivery and operational support modelsManage large, complex projects including program oversight and execution (Governance, Project Plans, Stakeholder Communication Plans, Requirements, Testing, Design, Issue/Risk identification and resolution, project resourcing, project budget, etc.)Contribute to IT Architecture Review Board meetings, protecting the interests of Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence usersDevelop, test, and implement integration processesEnsure all interfaces, Extract/Transform/Load/Reporting processes align to GLS’s Enterprise Architecture and Security standardsAssist in identifying, driving, and enforcing best practices for change control, testing, information security, and data governance, making use of DevOps principals and the latest in cloud technologyCoach and mentor the team to maintain current technology skills and assist with career development objectivesWhat should you already know to be successful as a Director, Data Integration?
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field requiredMinimum of seven (7) years’ experience with high proficiency in ETL, BI, Data Architecture, and Business Analytics requiredMinimum of two (2) years’ experience in building data lake solutions requiredMinimum of two (2) years’ experience in building cloud data warehouses required (i.e., Azure Synapse, Snowflake, Redshift, etc.)Advanced skill level in SQL, data modeling, data architecture, data profiling, performance tuning and ETL schedulers requiredExperience building solutions using Hadoop, Spark, Hive, Kafka, or similar technology is preferredExperience with modern data encryption standards and secure data exchange processes preferredAdvanced knowledge of physical database design and data structuresProven experience in overseeing the linking of cross-functional databases between disparate business units and systemsKnowledge of SDLC and quality control processes to be followed in various projectsStrong project management skills to include the development of project timelines, tasks, assigned resources, dependency management and risk managementAbility to quickly understand products, processes, and business needs to drive projects, improvements, and provide solutionsDemonstrated ability to work quickly and with high attention to detailExcellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and thrive in a fast-paced environmentDemonstrated ability to motivate and lead a team - provide quality training, guidance, performance coaching, and feedback to assigned staff Employment Requirements:
