About the Role
We are seeking a Director, Data Center Engineering to join us in a full-time capacity. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for the engineering and site preparation required for our data center construction projects. You will act as the primary point of contact for coordinating utility integration, including solar energy systems, water, and fiber optics. Please note that this position requires travel up to 50% of the time.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct all engineering efforts related to land preparation, ensuring that sites are fully prepared for construction and meet all necessary regulatory standards.
- Coordinate with external contractors to manage the timely and cost-effective installation of essential utilities, specifically focusing on solar energy integration, water, and fiber connectivity.
- Provide comprehensive project management for multiple simultaneous initiatives, including the development of project plans, budgets, and timelines to ensure all goals are achieved to our high standards.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, or a related engineering field, with a Master’s or PhD preferred.
- At least 7 years of professional engineering experience, including a minimum of 5 years in a leadership capacity.
- Direct, proven experience in the construction of new data centers.
- Strong expertise in land development, utility coordination, and renewable energy systems, with a particular focus on solar technology.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
