We are building our first dedicated business development function for the DoD military family and benefits market. You will lead the effort to establish Agile Six as a recognized delivery partner for DHA, DMDC, MC&FP, Army IMCOM, and related agencies that support warfighters and their families.
Responsibilities
- Own the full BD pipeline for targeted DoD health and family-support agencies, identifying opportunities early and guiding them through capture.
- Identify, cultivate, and close teaming arrangements with mid- and large-prime contractors that need modern human-centered design and AI-enabled delivery capability.
- Activate existing JV partnerships to pursue 8(a) task orders at DHA and DMDC, positioning Agile Six as the named delivery subcontractor.
- Coordinate closely with delivery leadership so every pursuit is grounded in what we can execute well and preserves our fixed-price, autonomous-team model.
- Structure subcontracts that maintain team autonomy, favoring firm-fixed-price arrangements that align with our culture.
- Represent Agile Six at DHITS, HIMSS Federal, and other conferences where DHA, DMDC, and MC&FP program managers gather.
- Serve as the primary source of market and competitive intelligence on the DHA and IMCOM procurement landscape, turning insights into actionable strategy.
- Use AI tools for market research, pipeline analysis, and competitive intelligence, and credibly position our applied-AI capabilities in conversations with program offices and partners.
- Maintain disciplined pipeline data in our internal CRM so the Market Development team operates with shared visibility and transparency.
Must-haves
- Eight or more years of business development, capture, or program-management experience specifically in DoD digital health, military family, or benefits programs.
- Active, current relationships with program offices at DHA J-6, DMDC, MC&FP, Army IMCOM, or MEDCOM.
- Direct experience inside a mid- or large-prime BD or capture function, or as a government program manager with established prime relationships.
- Proven track record of executing teaming arrangements that moved from concept to signed agreements.
- Fluency in GovCon BD mechanics, including PTW analysis, gate reviews, capture strategy, and teaming agreements.
- Working knowledge of the programs we target, such as milConnect, MHS GENESIS, MySECO, DHA CDAO initiatives, and caregiver and survivor benefits.
- Entrepreneurial mindset and comfort building a new market presence from near zero.
- Professional fluency in English.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in benefits, case management, or health IT within a DoD or federal health context.
- Familiarity with USDS-style delivery, agile at scale, or digital-services modernization.
- Prior work with SDVOSB, 8(a), or other socioeconomic joint-venture structures.
- Experience on task-order vehicles such as CIO-SP4, OASIS+, or DHA IDIQs.
- Track record recruiting and managing small-business subcontractor BD relationships.
- Demonstrated use of AI tools for research, pipeline analysis, or competitive intelligence.
- Comfort operating with ambiguity while building infrastructure that does not yet exist.
