Since 2017, we have been dedicated to making space accessible by providing governments, commercial enterprises, and research institutions with a fast and reliable way to deploy missions. By offering end-to-end mission services and utilizing our own satellite buses, we have successfully reduced the timeline for space integration from years to months. With over 30 missions already completed and a goal to reach a 30-satellite fleet by 2027, we are rapidly expanding our operations across our offices in San Francisco, Golden, and Toulouse. We are now looking for our first Business Development Director based in Germany to help lead our growth strategy across the European market.
About the Role
This is a full-time, remote position for a senior-level leader. As our Director of Business Development, you will be the primary driver of our expansion within the German ecosystem. You will focus on acquiring new customers and building strategic partnerships with government agencies, defense primes, and commercial space entities. This role is perfect for a leader who possesses a deep understanding of the German space and defense landscape and is eager to help shape the future of space infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of customers across the German government, defense, and commercial sectors, while cultivating long-term relationships with key stakeholders and industry leaders.
- Identify and negotiate strategic partnerships that enhance our ability to deliver space infrastructure as a service, while collaborating with our EMEA team to localize our go-to-market strategy.
- Influence our product roadmap by working closely with technical and product teams to ensure that customer requirements and market needs directly inform our platform development.
Requirements
We are looking for a candidate who brings a wealth of experience and a passion for the mission-driven nature of our work. Please ensure your application includes the following:
- At least 7 years of experience in sales, business development, or strategic partnerships within the commercial space, aerospace, or defense sectors.
- A proven track record of capturing new business within the German space and defense landscape, including navigating complex procurement cycles.
- Experience selling sophisticated technical solutions, particularly in aerospace or defense applications.
- A solid understanding of the operating practices of the European Space Agency and the European Commission.
- Demonstrated experience leading or contributing to RFP responses.
- Full professional fluency in both German and English, including strong written and verbal communication skills.
Location
This role is based in Germany and operates on a remote basis.
