The role

We are seeking an experienced executive to join us as our Director, Business Development. This is a full-time, remote position where you will play a pivotal role in driving our next phase of growth. You will serve as the primary face of Lumen to sophisticated players in private equity, real estate, and the clean energy sector, acting as a trusted advisor who navigates complex sales motions to bring high-value projects to completion.

Core responsibilities

  • Take ownership of our quarterly and annual bookings targets while managing the entire sales lifecycle from initial prospecting to final contract execution.
  • Cultivate and maintain long-term relationships with senior stakeholders at major investment and real estate firms.
  • Collaborate closely with our product, marketing, and operations teams to refine our go-to-market strategies and provide critical feedback based on customer needs.

Skills and experience

  • At least 8 years of experience in business development or B2B sales, with a preference for candidates who have worked with enterprise real estate or private equity clients.
  • A demonstrated track record of successfully managing complex, multi-stakeholder sales processes.
  • Strong fluency in infrastructure or real estate finance, including concepts like IRR, NPV, cap rates, and NOI.
  • Exceptional communication skills, high emotional intelligence, and the ability to build trust with diverse groups of people.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset with a bias for action and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional proficiency in English and a willingness to travel for key events or meetings.
