Flex is a growth-stage fintech company based in New York City that is revolutionizing the rent payment experience. We empower renters by providing the flexibility to pay rent on a schedule that aligns with their personal finances, and we are currently looking for a Director of Analytics Engineering to help scale our mission and lead our data strategy.
Responsibilities
- Define and execute the roadmap for our data modeling platform and analytics team.
- Mentor and manage a high-performing team of analytics engineers.
- Partner with product and engineering leadership to establish data requirements and guide architecture and schema design.
- Oversee the creation of data models that transform and deliver insights to stakeholders across the organization.
- Gather business requirements to design effective, scalable data solutions.
- Establish company-wide standards for data quality, structure, and documentation.
- Foster a data-driven culture by implementing systems and processes that improve decision-making.
Must-haves
- At least 8 years of experience in analytics engineering or a related field, with a proven history of shipping high-quality products at scale.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL and deep experience working with data warehouses like Snowflake.
- Expert-level skills in dbt, dbt Cloud, and Airflow.
- A strong understanding of the analytics engineering lifecycle, including version control, CI/CD, testing, and documentation best practices.
- Experience with modern BI tools.
- Fluency in English.
Nice-to-haves
- Proficiency in Python.
- Prior experience working within the fintech industry.
Benefits
The base salary range for this role is $222,000 to $239,000 for most states, and $247,000 to $266,000 for candidates based in New York, New Jersey, or California. This is a hybrid position requiring 3 days per week in our New York City headquarters.
