Second Harvest is Canada’s largest food rescue organization and is a global thought leader on perishable food redistribution. We work with thousands of food businesses from across the supply chain to redirect unsold surplus food to non-profit organizations that feed communities in every province and territory. The Role

The Digital Innovation Coordinator will support the Manager, Digital Innovation in using low-code and no-code tools such as Microsoft Dynamics, Power Automate, and Microsoft Copilot to make improvements to the

Second Harvest Food Rescue App (SHFRA). This role will assist in building automations, managing our chatbot, and implementing technical enhancements that will drive efficiencies for all staff working with the SHFRA. While this role is separate from that of a software developer, an understanding of basic HTML or similar language would be very beneficial.

Your Impact

• Collaborate with the Manager, Digital Innovation to understand key systems requirements/goals for the SHFRA.
• Assist in managing the build lifecycle (from Dev to Production) for new flows in Microsoft Power Automate.
• Maintain current flows in Power Automate, auditing, fixing and improving as needed.
• Audit sessions for Freida, our SHFRA chatbot; track issues and flag areas for improvement. Support with updating as needed.
• Support with other technical updates to the SHFRA as needed, including user experience software.
• Ensure all system documentation are up-to-date as changes are made.
• Participate in planning activities with team members to identify and implement goals and objectives.
• Perform other related duties as required or assigned to support the overall goals of the organization.

• Resourceful- The ability to find quick and clever ways to overcome difficulties and make the most of available resources. For example, we use this skill to solve problems creatively, make efficient use of time and materials, and adapt to new situations with limited resources.
• To be eligible, youth must:
  • be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment.
  • be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment, and
  • have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
