Are you passionate about using technology to make a tangible difference in the world? At Second Harvest, we serve as Canada’s largest food rescue organization and a global leader in perishable food redistribution. We partner with thousands of businesses across the supply chain to redirect surplus food to non-profits, ensuring that food stays on plates rather than ending up in landfills. We are looking for a dedicated individual to join our team and help us scale our impact through digital innovation.
What you bring
As a Digital Innovation Coordinator, you will work closely with our Manager of Digital Innovation to enhance the Second Harvest Food Rescue App. This junior-level contract role focuses on leveraging low-code and no-code solutions to drive operational efficiency. While this is a fully remote position, you will be an integral part of our Product, AI, and IT department. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Collaborating with our leadership to define system requirements and technical goals for our primary rescue application.
- Managing the build lifecycle for new Microsoft Power Automate flows, from initial development through to production.
- Auditing and maintaining our chatbot, Freida, to track performance issues and implement necessary improvements.
Requirements
We are looking for a candidate who is comfortable navigating digital tools and possesses a strong aptitude for problem-solving. You should have a solid grasp of Microsoft Dynamics and Power Automate, and familiarity with HTML is considered a significant asset. Because this role involves constant coordination, you must demonstrate excellent communication and collaboration skills. You should also be adaptable, creative, and resourceful when faced with technical challenges. To be eligible for this position, you must be between 15 and 30 years of age, hold a valid Social Insurance Number, and be legally entitled to work in Canada as a citizen, permanent resident, or protected person.
What we offer
We are pleased to offer a compensation rate of $26 per hour for this eight-week contract, which begins in June 2025. In addition to this salary, you will benefit from the following:
- Full flexibility with 100% remote work.
- The opportunity to contribute to a mission-driven organization with a global reach.
- Professional experience within a dynamic, tech-forward environment.
How to Apply
If you are ready to help us innovate for a hunger-free future, we would love to hear from you. Please submit your resume and cover letter through our online application portal. We review applications as they arrive and will continue the process until the position is filled. We strongly encourage applications from all candidates, particularly those from equity-deserving groups. If you require any accommodations during the recruitment process, please let us know.
