The opportunity

We are searching for an experienced DevSecOps Engineer to join our team in a full-time, remote capacity. You will report directly to our VP of Engineering and serve as a critical guardian of our platform. Your primary mission is to ensure our infrastructure remains secure, cost-effective, and highly reliable as it supports millions of active users and massive amounts of user-generated content. You will collaborate closely with our IT and development departments to plan, deploy, and harden the systems that keep the VRChat universe running smoothly.

A day in the life

• You will oversee the daily operation and maintenance of our hybrid cloud infrastructure, focusing on high reliability and performance optimization.
• You will lead incident management and root cause analysis efforts, ensuring that we respond quickly and effectively to any operational or security challenges.
• You will design and implement robust security controls, including proactive system hardening and technical audits to protect our interconnected systems.

Who you are

You are a seasoned professional with over 8 years of experience in DevOps, ideally within a high-growth, consumer-facing startup environment. You possess a deep technical background and are comfortable navigating complex, large-scale systems.

• You have hands-on experience with Terraform and hybrid cloud environments.
• You are proficient in Node.js and Golang, with a strong grasp of web application and API security.
• You have practical knowledge of data stores like MongoDB and Redis.
• You are familiar with security frameworks such as SOC2, ISO27001, and MITRE ATT&CK.
• You communicate clearly and can effectively translate complex technical concepts for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• You are fluent in English and ready to contribute to a collaborative, global team.
