We are looking for a Senior DevSecOps Engineer to join our Engineering team. At Istari Digital, we build open, scalable infrastructure for engineering data. Our platform enables customers to securely integrate engineering models across various disciplines and organizations, supporting everything from virtual testing to training AI for complex systems. This role is essential to our mission, as you will be responsible for hardening and scaling the infrastructure that powers our cloud-hosted production environments, including those serving government organizations with high security and compliance requirements.
Key outcomes
- Design, deploy, and maintain secure, scalable infrastructure within AWS.
- Manage and optimize Kubernetes environments to ensure production workloads remain secure and reliable.
- Utilize Terraform to build and maintain robust infrastructure as code.
- Harden production systems by implementing security measures across network, container, and identity layers.
- Develop secure baseline configurations and lead vulnerability management, patching, and remediation efforts.
- Administer Linux and Windows virtual machines while maintaining strong operational standards.
- Oversee identity and access management, including the administration of Active Directory domains.
- Partner with engineering teams to integrate security into CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows.
- Facilitate compliance initiatives, including audit preparation and the validation of technical controls.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and operational playbooks.
- Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues and participate in incident response and post-incident analysis.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in DevSecOps, DevOps, or Infrastructure and Security Engineering.
- Proven hands-on experience managing AWS and Kubernetes in production environments.
- Strong proficiency in Terraform and infrastructure as code practices.
- Experience hardening production systems and maintaining compliance with security frameworks.
- Technical expertise in managing both Linux and Windows environments.
- Deep understanding of IAM, network security, and operational monitoring.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
- Must reside and work within the United States.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with regulated or security-sensitive environments.
- Familiarity with frameworks such as SOC 2, NIST, ISO 27001, or CMMC.
- Experience with EKS or other managed Kubernetes services.
- Proficiency in scripting with Python or BASH.
- Experience with Active Directory Domain Services and hybrid identity management.
- Relevant certifications such as Security+ or possession of a Top Secret Security Clearance.
