About the Role
We are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join us on a contractor basis. In this role, you will be the primary driver behind our patch generation pipeline for a project built in Unreal Engine. You will work in close partnership with our development team to architect and maintain the infrastructure, specifically focusing on the integration of Unreal and Jenkins, to ensure our build processes are as efficient and reliable as possible.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain our Jenkins pipelines to ensure that patch builds remain reliable and efficient.
- Collaborate with developers to identify system requirements and prioritize tasks that improve our overall patching workflows.
- Troubleshoot pipeline issues, identify root causes, and implement automated solutions to minimize manual intervention.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should have a strong background in build systems and a genuine passion for game development. We are looking for the following qualifications:
- At least 5 years of professional experience working with build systems.
- Hands-on experience with Jenkins and Perforce.
- Proficiency with Unreal Engine build tools, including BuildGraph, the Unreal Automation Tool, and the Unreal Build Tool.
- Previous experience working on live service games.
- Strong self-motivation, excellent time management skills, and a willingness to take risks and learn from failure.
- Bonus points for familiarity with AWS, Terraform, monitoring tools like Grafana, ELK Stack, and Prometheus, as well as scripting proficiency in Python or BASH.
