DevOps Engineer at Kayzen

The opportunity

We are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our Platform Engineering team in India. This is a critical, highly visible role where you will report directly to our Co-founder and CTO. You will be responsible for the backbone of our global real-time bidding platform, moving beyond traditional server management to build automated, self-healing infrastructure. You will treat our private data centers as a programmable cloud, ensuring we can handle petabytes of data while maintaining sub-millisecond latency.

A day in the life

• You will develop and maintain automated provisioning pipelines to deploy bare-metal servers at scale across our global data centers.
• You will perform regular security monitoring and coordinate the recovery process for any hardware or software failures.
• You will conduct ongoing performance tuning, apply system patches, and optimize resources to ensure our infrastructure remains highly available and efficient.

Who you are

You are a technical professional with a degree in engineering or computer science and at least two years of experience in system administration, scripting, and debugging. You are comfortable working in rotational shifts as part of our incident response team and possess a strong command of the English language. Your technical toolkit should include:

• Proficiency in Shell scripting and either Python or Java, alongside strong SQL skills.
• Hands-on experience with configuration management and automation tools like Terraform or Ansible.
• Deep knowledge of L4/L7 load balancing using HAProxy or Nginx, as well as network performance tuning.
• Experience with orchestration platforms like Jenkins or Airflow and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or InfluxDB.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and Unix system administration certifications are considered a significant advantage.
