The opportunity
We are looking for a senior DevOps Engineer to join our team and focus on the intersection of PHP development and infrastructure. You will play a vital role in maintaining the tools that keep our platform running, specifically focusing on our must-use plugins and our internal application monitoring system. This position is perfect for someone who enjoys building high-quality software while also stepping into SysOps duties to ensure our hosting environment remains reliable, scalable, and secure for our global user base.
A day in the life
- You will take ownership of developing and maintaining our core PHP-based tools, including our internal APM system and essential WordPress plugins.
- You will collaborate with our engineering team to enhance our infrastructure through automation, ensuring that our systems are both efficient and highly scalable.
- You will support our operational needs by participating in SysOps tasks, assisting with incident resolution, and monitoring system health during busy periods.
Who you are
You are a seasoned professional who communicates fluently in English and brings a deep technical background to the table. You are comfortable working in a remote, distributed team and possess the following qualifications:
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience with Linux, specifically with Ubuntu, and the confidence to manage SysOps responsibilities.
- At least 3 years of professional PHP development experience, with a specialized focus on the WordPress ecosystem.
- Experience with deployment and automation tools, with Ansible being a significant advantage.
- A proactive mindset that thrives on troubleshooting complex performance and reliability issues in live production environments.
