At Mountaintop, we are building a new kind of game studio focused on crafting multiplayer experiences that challenge players and keep them coming back for just one more round. We are an independent, remote-first team spread across the US and Canada, united by a passion for the games that defined our own childhoods. We believe that the best games are a direct reflection of the people who make them, which is why we prioritize a collaborative, anti-crunch, and inclusive environment. We are looking for people who want to build something special with us.
The opportunity
We are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join us on a contract basis. Your primary mission will be to ensure the smooth operation of our patch generation pipeline for a project built in Unreal Engine. You will act as a bridge between our infrastructure and our development team, using tools like Jenkins to build a robust system that makes our patching and build processes as efficient as possible. This is a vital role for our studio, as your work will directly impact how we deliver updates to our players.
A day in the life
- You will manage and maintain our Jenkins pipelines, ensuring that our build processes remain reliable and highly efficient.
- You will collaborate closely with our developers to understand their specific needs, troubleshooting pipeline issues and implementing automated solutions to reduce manual work.
- You will monitor the performance and resource utilization of our systems, making proactive adjustments to keep our workflows running smoothly.
Who you are
You are a self-motivated professional with a deep love for both playing and creating incredible games. You bring at least 5 years of experience in building systems and are comfortable working in a remote environment. We are looking for someone who is willing to take risks, learn from failure, and communicate effectively in English.
Your background should include:
- Strong experience with Jenkins and Perforce.
- Practical knowledge of Unreal Engine build tools, including BuildGraph, Unreal Automation Tool, and Unreal Build Tool.
- Experience working on live service games.
- Bonus points if you are familiar with AWS, Terraform, and monitoring stacks like Grafana, Prometheus, or the ELK Stack.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or BASH is a significant plus.
Why you'll love it here
We are dedicated to building a studio that puts the team first. As a remote-first organization, we offer the flexibility of remote work, allowing you to contribute from anywhere. We are an equal opportunity employer committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace, and we provide reasonable accommodations throughout the hiring process to ensure everyone has the opportunity to succeed.
