Our team is looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer who wants to help us build the scalable systems that make this vision a reality.
The opportunity
As a key member of our core engineering team, you will be the backbone of our technical operations. You will take ownership of our Linux-based infrastructure, ensuring that our services are highly available, secure, and performant. This role is perfect for someone who loves infrastructure as code and wants to tackle complex challenges like PCI compliance, transaction processing, and large-scale system optimization. You will work remotely from anywhere in the United States, collaborating with a team that values clean code, proactive problem-solving, and a shared sense of ownership.
A day in the life
- You will kick off your morning with a stand-up meeting alongside product managers, engineers, and QA specialists to align on our current development goals.
- You will spend your time automating and optimizing our stack, which includes working with technologies like Docker, PostgreSQL, Redis, RabbitMQ, and Terraform.
- You will collaborate with your teammates via Slack to perform code reviews, troubleshoot performance issues, and ship new features that improve our platform for everyone.
Who you are
You are a seasoned engineer with a deep understanding of Linux systems and networking. You have a strong background in computer science and a passion for building systems that are both portable and scalable. We are looking for someone who brings the following to the table:
- Proficiency in backend programming languages, with a preference for experience in Ruby on Rails or Golang.
- Expertise in automation and configuration management tools like Chef and Terraform.
- Strong scripting skills in Shell, Ruby, or Python, along with a solid grasp of SQL and query optimization.
- A proactive mindset, where you look for ways to eliminate technical debt and prevent future emergencies before they happen.
- Excellent communication skills in English and a desire to work collaboratively in a remote environment.
