At Aztec, we are dedicated to bringing privacy to the Ethereum ecosystem. We recognize that current public blockchains force users to sacrifice security and data privacy in exchange for trustlessness, while also requiring excessive redundancy to verify transactions. To solve this, our team of scientists and engineers developed Plonk, the industry-standard zkSNARK, and Noir, a universal language for zero-knowledge proofs. We are currently building a pioneering Layer 2 network featuring private smart contracts, supported by $125 million in funding from prominent investors like a16z crypto and Paradigm. As we scale, we are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our team in London to help us bring this technology to market.
Key outcomes
- Assume full responsibility for our custom CI systems and internal build tooling.
- Develop and refine CI dashboards to provide better visibility into our engineering workflows.
- Strengthen our CI infrastructure by applying strict least-privilege principles and advanced sandboxing techniques.
- Drive productivity improvements across our build systems for Rust, C++, Solidity, and TypeScript.
- Diagnose and resolve complex, low-level issues involving Linux processes, memory management, signals, and IPC.
- Work on-site in our London office to collaborate closely with our CTO and engineering teams.
- Contribute to the growth of our internal infrastructure team, with the potential to transition into a leadership capacity.
Requirements
- Deep expertise in Linux, including experience with kernel namespaces, cgroups, virtual memory, tracing syscalls, and the /proc filesystem.
- A strong preference for writing custom Bash scripts over managing complex YAML-based CI configurations.
- Extensive professional experience with Terraform and AWS cloud infrastructure.
- An intimate understanding of Docker, ranging from optimizing image sizes to leveraging specific kernel features.
- Proven ability to maintain and scale complex software stacks and CI environments.
- The technical proficiency to debug build failures and process groups at the OS layer.
- Fluency in English.
Compensation
We provide a competitive compensation package that includes equity options. Our benefits program is designed to support your well-being and professional growth, featuring:
- Paid time off, including 25 days of annual leave plus bank holidays.
- Comprehensive medical and dental insurance.
- Retirement savings plans.
- Regular company retreats for team collaboration.
- A dedicated learning budget to support your ongoing professional development.
How to apply
If you are excited about building cutting-edge zero-knowledge infrastructure and want to help shape the future of digital privacy, we invite you to reach out. Please submit your application to join our team in London, where we value intellectual curiosity and creative problem-solving.
