DevOps Engineer at MediaAlpha

MediaAlpha serves as a premier provider of customer acquisition solutions, leveraging advanced data science and technology to connect consumers with brands in high-consideration sectors like insurance, travel, and personal finance. We are currently seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our team in a full-time, hybrid capacity. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing and optimizing our AWS cloud infrastructure while leading key projects that enhance our technological capabilities.

Key outcomes

• Collaborate with our development and security teams to improve system, application, and database processes.
• Manage the day-to-day administration of our cloud environment, including planning, remediation, and resolving escalated incidents.
• Architect robust cloud environments within the Amazon platform while adhering to cybersecurity best practices.
• Identify opportunities to automate manual tasks and maintain the overall health and cost-efficiency of our cloud operations.
• Update and maintain code and scripts, including Perl and Python, to ensure our environment remains current and functional.
• Mentor team members on DevOps methodologies and document performance metrics to support operational transparency.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of professional experience in cloud and DevOps operations.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in Linux Administration.
• At least 2 years of experience writing scripts with Bash.
• At least 1 year of experience with Terraform or Ansible deployment.
• At least 1 year of experience working with web applications and their backend functions.
• Strong proficiency in documenting processes, performing diagnostics, and debugging software.
• A willingness to engage in hands-on work with SQL databases.
• Familiarity with tools such as Packer, Docker, CI/CD, and Git.
• Experience with AWS services including EC2, IAM, RDS, VPC, Route53, CloudWatch, and S3.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to facilitate cross-team collaboration.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience writing scripts in Perl, Python, or other relevant languages.
• Relevant AWS certifications.

Compensation

The salary range for this position is $94,500 to $175,000 per year, depending on your experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, we provide a comprehensive benefits package, which includes:
