We are Mountaintop, an independent, remote-first game studio dedicated to building challenging multiplayer experiences that bring players together. We are currently seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our team on a contract basis to help us build the infrastructure needed for efficient game patch generation.
Responsibilities
- Partner with our development team to define patching requirements and set project priorities.
- Oversee and maintain Jenkins pipelines to ensure our patch builds remain reliable and fast.
- Optimize Jenkins integrations and plugins to improve our overall patch generation workflow.
- Investigate and resolve issues within our build and deployment pipelines to keep development moving.
- Develop automation tools and scripts to minimize manual work in our patching processes.
- Track pipeline performance and resource usage, making necessary adjustments to boost efficiency.
- Act as a technical resource for the development team regarding patching tasks.
- Create clear documentation for our procedures, configurations, and best practices.
Must-haves
- A genuine passion for playing and creating high-quality games.
- At least 5 years of professional experience working with build systems.
- Strong technical background in Jenkins.
- Proficiency with Unreal Engine build tools, including BuildGraph, Unreal Automation Tool, and Unreal Build Tool.
- Hands-on experience with Perforce.
- Prior experience working on live service games.
- A self-motivated mindset with excellent time management abilities.
- A willingness to take risks and learn from challenges.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS and infrastructure as code tools like Terraform.
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging stacks, including Grafana, Prometheus, and the ELK Stack.
- Scripting proficiency in Python or BASH for automation.
- A solid grasp of DevOps principles, such as Continuous Learning, Fast Feedback, and Flow.
- A degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related field.
