At Homeward, we are on a mission to bridge the gap in healthcare access for the 60 million Americans living in rural communities. We know that rural residents face a 23 percent higher mortality rate than those in urban areas, often due to hospital closures and a lack of local physicians. Our team is rearchitecting how care is delivered by combining diagnostic breakthroughs with remote monitoring to create a model that is purpose-built for these underserved areas. Backed by $70 million in funding and led by the team that defined the products at Livongo, we are taking full financial responsibility for member outcomes to ensure that everyone has the chance to achieve their best health.
The opportunity
We are looking for a DevOps Engineer to join our Navigation team and serve as a foundational member of our engineering organization. This is a unique chance to shape our technical trajectory from the ground up as we scale our services. You will work closely with our product, design, and data teams to build robust, secure solutions that directly address health inequities. If you are passionate about using technology for social good and want to help us transform the rural healthcare landscape, we would love to have you on board.
A day in the life
- You will design and implement scalable, secure infrastructure as code to ensure our systems remain performant and reliable as we grow.
- You will build and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines using AWS services, CircleCI, and GitHub Actions to streamline our deployment processes.
- You will collaborate with your peers to manage our application stacks, monitor system health, and document best practices to foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation.
Who you are
You are a mid-level engineer with at least 3 years of hands-on experience in DevOps. You are comfortable working in a hybrid environment and possess the following skills:
- Deep expertise in AWS cloud services, ideally supported by certifications.
- Proficiency in infrastructure as code tools and CI/CD platforms like CircleCI and GitHub Actions.
- Strong experience managing application stacks built with Python and TypeScript.
- A solid grasp of database administration and SQL.
- A clear understanding of security protocols, specifically regarding HIPAA and the handling of sensitive health information.
Why you'll love it here
We believe in taking our mission seriously while maintaining a fun and supportive work environment. We offer a competitive salary range of $120,000 to $160,000, depending on your experience and location. Our benefits package is designed to support your well-being and long-term success:
- Equity compensation to ensure you share in our collective success.
- Unlimited vacation time to help you recharge.
- Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance with 100% of employee premiums covered.
- A company-sponsored 401k plan.
- The flexibility of a hybrid work arrangement that respects your need for balance.
