We are looking for a mid-level DevOps Engineer to join our Platform-as-a-Service team in New Zealand. Xero provides a beautiful, intuitive platform that empowers small businesses and their advisors to grow, and you will play a key role in building the automated data infrastructure that helps our product teams ship software reliably and securely.

Responsibilities

Design and manage our data infrastructure to support Xero product teams.
Use AWS as our primary cloud environment to provision and maintain infrastructure.
Develop automation using PowerShell and Python.
Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines using TeamCity and Octopus Deploy.
Write APIs and utilize Infrastructure as Code to improve our platform capabilities.
Troubleshoot performance issues and resolve incidents to ensure system reliability.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to reduce cognitive load and improve engineering workflows.

Must-haves

Proven experience delivering code within a production environment.
Hands-on technical experience working with cloud platforms, specifically AWS.
Strong understanding of containerization technologies.
Experience with modern engineering principles and CI/CD systems.
Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
A growth mindset with a strong desire to learn and adapt.
High emotional intelligence and the ability to collaborate proactively with others.
Exceptional analytical and troubleshooting capabilities.
