DevOps Director at SambaNova Systems

At SambaNova Systems, we are pioneering the era of generative AI by providing a full-stack platform that spans from the chip to the model. Our SN40L chip powers an integrated environment that allows enterprise and government organizations to securely fine-tune open-source models with their own data. We are looking for an experienced Director of DevOps to lead our infrastructure strategy and ensure the seamless delivery of our AI solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor the DevOps team in designing scalable, reliable infrastructure while collaborating with component teams to manage roadmaps and identify potential bottlenecks.
• Take full ownership of the release process, including the development of tracking tools and ensuring all quality requirements are met for product launches.
• Design and implement robust CI/CD pipelines, providing guidance on automated testing and deployment strategies to improve system performance.
• Partner with software leads to establish a comprehensive testing strategy that balances developer velocity with high-quality production standards.
• Drive the adoption of Infrastructure as Code principles to streamline deployments across development and production environments.
• Establish monitoring, alerting, and incident response protocols to maintain system health and lead post-incident reviews.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement by promoting industry best practices in deployment and release management.

Must-haves

• A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 8 years of professional experience in DevOps or release management, specifically with complex software delivery lifecycles.
• Deep technical proficiency with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI.
• Hands-on experience with automated testing frameworks and methodologies.
• Practical knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform and Ansible.
• Strong analytical skills paired with the ability to communicate effectively across diverse engineering and product teams.

Benefits
