We are Pivot Energy, a national renewable energy provider that develops, finances, builds, owns, and manages solar and energy storage projects. Our work helps decarbonize the nation’s electricity supply, expands equitable access to clean energy, and delivers real cost savings to businesses and families. As a Certified B Corporation and one of Denver’s “Best Places to Work,” we evaluate every decision through environmental, social, and governance criteria to create measurable positive impact.
What is this role?
This is a full-time, remote position for a Development Engineer III at the senior level. The role centers on solar PV and energy storage design engineering for community- and utility-scale projects between 1 MWac and 20 MWac. You will serve as a technical lead in one or more markets, handling day-to-day work with only occasional supervision.
What will you do?
- Design community- and utility-scale solar PV and storage projects, covering civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical elements with tools such as AutoCAD Civil 3D and PVCase.
- Produce single-line and three-line electrical diagrams, run performance models in PVSyst, and complete electrical calculations for development-stage designs.
- Coordinate with utilities and authorities having jurisdiction, review consultant deliverables, guide junior engineers, and maintain project documentation throughout design, development, and performance tracking.
What makes you a great fit?
You hold a four-year engineering degree from an ABET-accredited university with an electrical, mechanical, or energy focus and bring at least four years of experience with community- and utility-scale solar PV. You understand photovoltaic system design, the National Electric Code, the International Fire Code, utility interconnection processes, three-phase AC systems, and utility distribution equipment. You are proficient with AutoCAD, PVsyst, and standard spreadsheet and word-processing applications. Strong written and verbal communication skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and a genuine interest in continuous learning round out your profile. English fluency is required. E.I.T. certification, a PE license, or NABCEP credentials are viewed favorably, as is familiarity with civil site design, energy storage controls, and common site diligence documents.
What's in it for you?
We offer fully remote work along with a culture built on impact, balance, determination, professionalism, honesty, and kindness. You will join a team that invests in inclusion, equity, and professional growth while contributing to projects that reduce carbon emissions and expand access to clean energy.
