We are looking for a Developer Relations Lead to join our team in the Netherlands on a full-time basis. At TomTom, we are on a mission to build the world’s first real-time map, and we want you to help us empower developers to create exceptional applications using our location data. As a key member of our Product Organization, you will bridge the gap between our engineering teams and the developer community, ensuring our APIs and SDKs are as effective and accessible as possible. This is a hybrid role where you will have the chance to work with a diverse, global team of 3,700 passionate problem-solvers.
Responsibilities
- Analyze developer workflows and industry trends in the automotive and mapping sectors to create a strategic roadmap for new tooling and content.
- Design and build interactive tools, SDK extensions, and playgrounds that simplify the integration of our platform features.
- Provide expert technical guidance to developers while collaborating with internal engineering, marketing, and product teams to drive platform adoption.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you should have a strong technical foundation and a passion for community building. We are looking for the following qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
- At least 5 years of experience as a software developer, specifically with building APIs, SDKs, or platform integrations.
- Proficiency in modern programming languages such as JavaScript, Python, or Java.
- Deep knowledge of RESTful API design principles and Agile development workflows.
- Experience with version control systems like Git and a background in Developer Relations within a B2B environment.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate complex technical challenges into creative, user-friendly solutions.
What we offer
We believe in supporting your growth and well-being both inside and outside of the office. Our benefits include:
- Flexible working hours and a hybrid work model that allows you to balance your time between home and the office.
- A dedicated personal learning budget, paid leave for training days, and access to e-learning platforms.
- A home office setup budget and a monthly allowance to ensure you have a comfortable workspace.
- Comprehensive paid time off, including a competitive holiday plan and an extra day off for your birthday.
- Enhanced parental leave and paid time off to volunteer or care for loved ones.
- The opportunity to work from abroad for a set number of days each year and participate in global company events like our annual Hackathon.
