The opportunity
As our Developer Marketing Manager, you will be a vital force in accelerating the growth and engagement of our developer community. You will help shape our platform marketing strategy, creating the programs, content, and communications that inspire developers to build with us. This is a full-time role based in New Zealand, where you can choose to work in a hybrid capacity or from the comfort of your home. You will work closely with our leadership teams to ensure our value proposition resonates with developers and drives meaningful adoption across our ecosystem.
A day in the life
- You will lead the execution of our developer engagement strategy, managing programs that provide growth opportunities for our partners while gathering valuable insights for our internal teams.
- You will craft compelling educational content and email nurture campaigns designed to improve the developer experience, boost product adoption, and streamline the onboarding process into the Xero App Store.
- You will revitalize our developer brand by managing our social channels and community forums, ensuring that we are actively listening to and supporting our users.
Who you are
We are looking for a senior professional who understands the unique needs of a technical audience. You should be fluent in English and possess the following qualifications:
- At least 5 years of experience in developer relations, specifically within program management, marketing, or partnership roles.
- A strong technical background that allows you to communicate effectively with developers.
- A proven ability to deliver content-led acquisition initiatives across digital channels, events, and PR.
- Experience in building community advocacy through targeted education and engagement programs.
- A strategic mindset with a track record of developing audience segmentation, positioning, and messaging.
- Familiarity with marketing automation and CRM tools, with experience in a SaaS or high-growth tech environment being a significant advantage.
