The Ethereum Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to the long-term success of Ethereum. We serve as a vital voice within the ecosystem, allocating resources to critical projects and advocating for the technology on a global scale. Since 2014, we have hosted Devcon, which has grown into the most prominent event for the Ethereum community. This year, we are preparing for Devcon 7 in Bangkok, and we are looking for a dedicated individual to help us bring this experience to life.
What is this role?
We are seeking a Production Assistant to join our team on a temporary, mid-level basis. This is a hybrid role that requires you to be based in Bangkok, or willing to relocate there for two months leading up to the event. You will support our Production Lead and the broader team in executing the logistics and activities required for Devcon 7. This is a contractor-style position where you will bill based on your hours, with a commitment that starts part-time and scales to full-time as we approach the conference dates in November.
What will you do?
- Support all aspects of event production, ensuring that every detail is managed with precision.
- Oversee and coordinate with a variety of vendors, including those handling AV, catering, internet, design, and translation services.
- Facilitate collaboration across our partner teams and the local Ethereum community to ensure a seamless attendee experience.
What makes you a great fit?
To succeed in this role, you should be a motivated perfectionist who thrives in fast-paced environments. You are comfortable taking ownership of tasks and troubleshooting issues as they arise. We are looking for someone who brings the following qualifications:
- Proven experience organizing medium to large events, ideally for 1,000 or more attendees.
- Strong background in managing event vendors and working under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
- Fluency in both English and Thai, as clear communication is essential.
- The ability to work effectively within a multicultural, remote team across different time zones.
- A valid passport and the availability to be on-site in Bangkok from November 7 through November 19, 2024.
What's in it for you?
Joining our team for Devcon 7 offers you the chance to contribute to one of the most significant events in the blockchain space. You will work with a passionate, global team dedicated to high-quality production standards. Benefits for this role include:
- The opportunity to work in a hybrid environment.
- Flexibility in your working schedule to accommodate our global team.
- Exposure to the inner workings of a major international conference and the chance to build relationships with key players in the Ethereum ecosystem.
