As we continue to grow our global team at our Needham, Massachusetts headquarters, we are looking for a Design Engineering Manager to lead the development of innovative, motorized solutions for our Ninja brand.
Responsibilities
- Drive the front-end product roadmap by utilizing ideation and innovation techniques to develop complete system solutions.
- Take ownership of the motorized product category, focusing on the integration of mechanical systems with sensors, software, and connectivity.
- Adopt a hands-on approach by building functional rigs and proof-of-concept prototypes to test ideas and fail fast.
- Communicate technical concepts effectively through sketching, 3D modeling, and CAD layouts.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in the US, UK, and China to ensure consumer-focused experiences drive our product direction.
- Coach and mentor junior team members while managing multiple workflows across fast-paced project schedules.
- Conduct independent and team-based engineering studies to solve technical challenges and improve user experience.
Must-haves
- A technical degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or Industrial Design.
- Between 6 and 10 years of professional experience in mechanical, mechatronics, or product design environments.
- Proficiency in Solidworks or Creo.
- Experience with manufacturing processes including plastic, casting, and sheet metal.
- A strong grasp of mechanical principles with an appreciation for electrical and software integration.
- Proven ability to identify, implement, and verify technical solutions autonomously.
- A growth mindset with the resilience and entrepreneurial spirit to thrive in a collaborative, fast-moving environment.
- Fluency in English.
Nice-to-haves
- Previous experience working within the consumer household appliance industry.
- Familiarity with intellectual property processes, such as tracking prior art and identifying novel solutions.
- Experience with UX design principles.
