Our platform leverages powerful AI-powered agents and assistants to help users create and launch full-stack applications directly from their browser, regardless of their coding background. We are currently looking for a Lead Design Engineer to join our team on a full-time, hybrid basis in the United States. In this role, you will serve as the essential bridge between our design and engineering teams, helping to architect our front-end solutions and refine the technical foundation that makes software creation accessible to everyone.
Responsibilities
- Lead the technical implementation and ongoing evolution of our design system, known as Replit UI.
- Architect and build sophisticated UI components that maintain a perfect balance between high-end aesthetics and technical performance.
- Collaborate directly with product designers to translate concepts into pixel-perfect, production-ready code while establishing best practices for front-end architecture.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of professional experience in front-end development, paired with a strong sensibility for design.
- Expertise in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Deep proficiency with modern front-end frameworks, specifically React.
- Comprehensive understanding of design systems, component-based architecture, and accessibility standards.
- Strong communication skills to effectively bridge the gap between design and engineering workflows.
