At Mous, we believe people deserve tech and lifestyle products that are truly fit for purpose and perform exactly as promised. Over the last decade, we have challenged the status quo in the tech accessory market by investing millions into research and development. From creating cases capable of surviving drops from cranes to engineering magnetic ecosystems and developing high-impact, waterproof materials for our backpacks, we are constantly pushing boundaries. We are a brand focused on empowering people to live without limits, and we are just getting started.
What is this role?
We are looking for a Design Engineer to join our growing product team in the United Kingdom. This is a full-time, mid-level position that operates on a hybrid basis. You will serve as a core member of our team, taking ownership of the research, design, prototyping, and testing phases to help us expand our product lineup.
What will you do?
- Lead the design and development of various R&D projects, guiding them from initial research all the way through to final manufacture.
- Manage detailed project timelines by collaborating with internal stakeholders to ensure we hit every key deadline.
- Oversee supplier relationships, which includes sourcing new partners and managing the day-to-day communication with our existing network.
What makes you a great fit?
To succeed in this role, you should be a hands-on problem solver who is eager to learn and share knowledge. We are looking for the following qualifications and skills:
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or Manufacturing Engineering.
- At least 2 years of experience in design engineering, specifically with product development, prototyping, and testing.
- Proficiency in CAD modelling, preferably using SolidWorks.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes such as injection moulding, thermoforming, CNC machining, and sheet metal bending.
- Experience working with various materials, including thermoplastics, composites, and metals.
- Advanced skills in Excel for reporting and data analysis.
- Excellent communication and project management abilities to present insights to leadership and coordinate with international manufacturers.
What's in it for you?
We offer a vibrant, collaborative culture based in our Hoxton office, where you will have the flexibility of a hybrid work schedule. Beyond the work itself, you can look forward to:
- A competitive salary that reflects your experience and contributions.
- 25 days of holiday plus bank holidays, with the option to swap bank holidays for other religious observances.
- A comprehensive Charlie HR perks package, including discounts on numerous high street brands.
- A 30% discount on all Mous products.
- Access to our Cycle to Work scheme and an employee pension plan.
- An Employee Assistance Programme for your wellbeing.
- A one-month paid leave sabbatical after five years of service.
- Regular team socials, including happy hours, yoga, and other on-site activities.
