The opportunity

We are looking for a Database Reliability Engineer to join our team in a full-time, hybrid capacity. In this role, you will be the primary steward of our cloud database infrastructure. You will take ownership of our backup processes, performance tuning, and troubleshooting across a variety of database platforms. Your work will be vital in helping our software teams understand and utilize our database systems more effectively, ensuring that our infrastructure remains resilient and highly performant as we continue to scale.

A day in the life

• You will design and recommend robust database architectures that prioritize durability, high availability, and long-term resiliency.
• You will provision and administer cloud resources using Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform and Terragrunt to ensure our systems are consistent and scalable.
• You will actively participate in incident response and system monitoring, working alongside our SRE team to improve observability and reduce manual toil through automation.

Who you are

You are a mid-level engineer with at least two years of experience working with relational database concepts, storage systems, and complex architectures. You have a strong background in managing Postgres, MySQL, SQL Server, and Mongo at scale. You are comfortable working within AWS environments, including RDS, Aurora, and MongoDB Atlas. Beyond your technical skills, you possess the ability to guide software engineers through best practices regarding schema design and security. You communicate fluently in English and bring an automation-first mindset to every challenge you face.
