We are currently looking for a talented Senior Database Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis. You will be working in a hybrid capacity to support our partner, LibreMax Capital. Based in New York, LibreMax Capital is a prominent asset management firm that focuses on structured credit and asset-backed finance, managing complex products like collateralized loan obligations and residential mortgage-backed securities for a diverse range of public and private markets.

Responsibilities

Lead the migration of databases between AWS and Azure environments while prioritizing data integrity and minimizing system downtime.
Refactor and optimize existing database schemas, tables, and stored procedures to improve overall scalability and performance.
Execute the conversion of stored procedures into Python, utilizing tools such as DBT to streamline data transformations.

Requirements

At least 3 years of professional experience in database engineering, specifically with Postgres or Microsoft SQL Server.
Practical experience working with AWS and Azure, with a strong background in managing cloud-based migrations.
Advanced proficiency in SQL and Python, with familiarity in DBT being a distinct advantage.
Proven ability to manage test environments, implement version control, and collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams.
Strong communication skills in English to ensure clear documentation and team alignment.
