At Satellite, we are looking for a driven, smart and ambitious Senior Database Engineer to join the team of our US-based Partner - LibreMax Capital!

LibreMax Capital is a New York-based asset management firm specializing in structured credit and asset-backed finance. Its investment strategy focuses on a variety of securitized products, including residential mortgage-backed securities (RMBS), asset-backed securities (ABS), collateralized loan obligations (CLOs), and collateralized debt obligations (CDOs). LibreMax caters to both public and private markets, offering tailored investment solutions like hedged strategies, drawdown vehicles, and custom strategies.

Responsibilities:

Database Migration: Migrate databases from AWS to Azure with a focus on data integrity and minimal downtime.

Database Refactoring: Optimize and refactor database tables, schemas, and stored procedures for better performance and scalability.

Stored Procedure Conversion: Convert stored procedures to Python, potentially using DBT for data transformations.

Test Environment Management: Set up and maintain a test environment to safely evaluate new features without affecting production.

Cost and Efficiency Assessment: Continuously assess and recommend database solutions that are efficient and cost-effective.

Requirements:

Database Experience: 3+ years in database engineering with expertise in Postgres and/or Microsoft SQL Server.

Cloud Platform Knowledge: Hands-on experience with AWS and Azure, especially with cloud migrations.

Scripting Skills: Proficiency in SQL and Python; experience with DBT is a plus.

Testing and Environment Setup: Ability to set up test environments and ensure version control.

Communication Skills: Strong collaboration and documentation skills for working with cross-functional teams.
