Database Developer at Scaleway

We are Scaleway, a prominent European cloud provider, and our Database team is looking for a talented Senior Database Developer to join our ranks. We pride ourselves on offering some of the most popular cloud services in the industry, and we are currently seeking someone to help us build, deploy, and maintain the software components that orchestrate our customers' databases. This is a full-time, hybrid role based in our offices in Paris, Toulouse, or Lille.

What you'll be doing

• You will design, build, and oversee our Database-as-a-Service offerings to ensure they meet the needs of our growing customer base.
• You will take ownership of our internal database infrastructure, continuously improving and maintaining the systems that support our internal teams.
• You will contribute to our engineering culture by actively sharing your technical knowledge, mentoring colleagues, and participating in our regular team rituals.

What you'll bring

To be successful in this role, you should have a strong background in systems engineering and a collaborative mindset. We are looking for the following skills and experience:

• Proven experience working with Go or Python.
• Strong proficiency in system programming using scripting languages like Bash or Python.
• Practical experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and using IT automation tools.
• A solid understanding of Linux system administration.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and how it functions at scale.
• Fluency in written English, as well as proficiency in French.
• Experience with database administration, including troubleshooting, high availability, and clustering, is highly valued.
• Familiarity with gRPC APIs and monitoring tools like Prometheus or Grafana is a plus.
