As we continue to expand, we are looking for a Senior Database Administrator to join our team in Hungary on a full-time, hybrid basis. We need an engineer who is passionate about data safety, sustainable processes, and collaborative problem-solving to help us build robust, future-proof systems.

Key outcomes

• Manage production database systems directly through the SQL prompt.
• Take full ownership of technical projects and see them through to successful completion.
• Collaborate across the organization to identify needs and proactively implement solutions.
• Provide expert support for database stability, including participation in an on-call rotation to address critical issues.
• Develop automation strategies to prevent recurring incidents and improve system reliability.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for database-related inquiries from both technical and non-technical colleagues.
• Optimize database performance and maintain system health before issues arise.
• Evaluate and integrate new technologies while maintaining the stability of existing, functional infrastructure.

Requirements

• Extensive experience working with Linux environments and Amazon Web Services.
• Deep expertise in PostgreSQL or similar ACID-compliant SQL databases.
• Strong proficiency in automation, configuration management tools like Ansible, and resource monitoring platforms such as Datadog.
• Experience managing large-scale fleets of thousands of servers.
• Ability to script and develop using languages such as Ruby, Bash, Python, or Go.
• Proven track record in performance tuning and database pooling solutions like pgBouncer.
• Excellent communication skills with professional fluency in both English and Hungarian.
• Ability to successfully pass a background check as part of our hiring process.
