What is this role?
We are looking for a Senior Database Administrator to join our Engineering and Infrastructure team on a full-time, remote basis. You will be a proactive problem-solver who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Your primary focus will be to optimize, manage, and scale the critical database systems that support our global applications.
What will you do?
- Manage and maintain both RDBMS and NoSQL database solutions to ensure peak performance.
- Perform deep-dive performance tuning and implement robust strategies for replication, high availability, and sharding.
- Collaborate directly with development teams to design, optimize, and troubleshoot complex database schemas and queries.
What makes you a great fit?
To succeed in this role, you should have at least three years of experience as a Database Administrator and a strong command of SQL. You must be comfortable working within Linux environments and have hands-on experience with AWS or GCP cloud platforms. We are looking for someone with expert-level knowledge of at least one major database system, such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB. Strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate effectively with your teammates are essential. If you have experience with Python or Bash scripting, or are familiar with Infrastructure-as-Code tools, that is a significant advantage.
