Database Administrator at Saviynt

Our Enterprise Identity Cloud provides the visibility, control, and intelligence necessary to defend against cyber threats while ensuring that users have seamless, secure access to the tools they need. We are currently looking for a Senior Database Administrator to join our team in India on a full-time, hybrid basis to help us maintain and scale our critical data infrastructure.

Key outcomes

• Design, implement, and maintain primary database storage structures and objects, modifying them as needed for performance and system enhancements.
• Proactively monitor and optimize database performance while managing system storage and planning for future capacity requirements.
• Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of MySQL databases and Elasticsearch clusters to ensure high availability and fault tolerance.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts using Python or shell to streamline routine operations, data loading, and reporting.
• Collaborate with development teams to tune SQL and Elasticsearch queries, ensuring optimal performance for high-transaction applications.
• Manage security, data integrity, and disaster recovery planning, including testing failover procedures for both MySQL and Elasticsearch environments.
• Research and evaluate new RDBMS, ETL, and database tools to improve the reliability and scalability of our search and data systems.

Requirements

• At least 5 to 7 years of professional experience in MySQL administration, specifically covering replication, tuning, backup, and recovery.
• A minimum of 3 to 4 years of experience managing Elasticsearch, including node configuration, shard distribution, and index lifecycle management.
• Proven ability to manage multi-terabyte databases and high-volume transaction environments.
• Strong technical proficiency in AWS RDS and Azure flexible server environments, alongside self-managed MySQL instances.
• Expertise in performance tuning for search applications, including index design and query optimization.
• Demonstrated success in executing large-scale database migrations and version upgrades.
• Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to provide off-hours support for critical system maintenance.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience in building and supporting production-grade database clusters in complex, distributed environments.
• A proactive mindset toward staying current with emerging database technologies and industry best practices.
