We are currently seeking a Senior Database Administrator to join our research and development center in Kyiv. Our database team plays a critical role in maintaining the availability, security, and performance of our systems, ensuring that our data remains both protected and accessible.

Key outcomes

• Design and maintain robust database systems that prioritize high availability and reliability for all end users.
• Implement database solutions that align with specific operational needs and user information requirements.
• Manage user permissions and data distribution to ensure accurate and timely access.
• Execute high-speed transaction recovery and regular backups to protect the integrity of our data.
• Optimize database performance by tuning parameters and minimizing downtime to ensure maximum responsiveness.
• Deliver proactive and reactive support to keep our operations running without interruption.
• Establish, document, and enforce comprehensive standards and policies for database management.
• Perform routine testing and evaluations to uphold strict data security and privacy standards.
• Monitor system health, apply necessary patches, and manage updates to maintain optimal performance.

Requirements

• A proven professional background in database administration, IT, or database architecture.
• Practical experience working with database standards and end-user applications.
• Strong technical knowledge of protocols for data backup, recovery, security, and integrity within SQL or NoSQL engines.
• Proficiency in working within GNU/Linux server environments.
• A solid understanding of database design principles and documentation practices.
• Basic familiarity with programming languages.
• Strong analytical capabilities and a methodical, algorithmic approach to problem-solving.
• A Bachelor of Science degree in a computer-related discipline or a relevant professional certification.
• Fluency in English.

Preferred qualifications

• Deep expertise in managing MySQL and PostgreSQL.
• Experience working with cloud platforms such as GCP and AWS.
• Familiarity with version control tools like GitHub and Bitbucket.
