Database Administrator at Edge & Node

Our Graph Node & Infrastructure team is currently seeking a Senior Database Administrator to join us in a full-time, remote capacity. This role is vital to our mission, as you will be responsible for scaling and managing the high-throughput databases that support The Graph Studio and our Hosted Service.

Key outcomes

• Oversee the design, administration, and ongoing support of databases for our hosted service, including system troubleshooting and preventative maintenance.
• Install, configure, and manage PostgreSQL databases and shards.
• Monitor database performance and execute tuning or optimization strategies for both queries and overall system health.
• Manage the refreshment and maintenance of our development, staging, and test environments.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation regarding our database infrastructure.

Requirements

• Extensive professional experience in the administration, monitoring, maintenance, and optimization of PostgreSQL databases.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot complex database issues and provide expert advice on performance improvements.
• Strong communication skills with a demonstrated ability to collaborate asynchronously across a multinational team in various time zones.
• Willingness to participate in rotating on-call duties during standard working hours.
• Fluency in English.
• Familiarity with Rust or other low-level programming languages is considered a significant asset.
