We are currently looking for a talented Database Administrator to join our team in South Africa. What you'll be doing
- You will manage and maintain our database infrastructure, specifically focusing on AWS RDS environments.
- You will be responsible for performance tuning, which includes identifying and optimizing slow queries and indexes to ensure our systems run at their best.
- You will oversee the security and reliability of our data by managing backups, performing restoration tests, and executing disaster recovery planning.
What you'll bring
To succeed in this role, you should have at least 3 years of professional experience and hold an IT diploma or degree. We are looking for someone who is fluent in English and possesses the following technical expertise:
- Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
- Deep knowledge of AWS RDS and managing database updates within that ecosystem.
- Proficiency with database performance analysis tools.
- Experience implementing database archiving strategies.
- Familiarity with AWS DMS, DynamoDB, or migrating between different database technologies is considered a significant advantage.
