We are looking for a skilled Database Administrator to join our team at CloudHire, a leading provider that connects top global talent with businesses worldwide. In this full-time, remote role based in India, you will play a key part in managing our data architecture and ensuring our systems perform at their best.
Responsibilities
- Integrate various database models, including Snowflake, Star, and Network schemas.
- Manage data flow between message buses like Kafka and IBM MQ to targets such as Redshift, Postgres, and MongoDB.
- Select the right database workloads to optimize performance and functionality.
- Design and deploy scalable database solutions that meet specific request demands.
- Oversee database recovery processes while adhering to time and sequence constraints.
- Work closely with stakeholders to define business requirements and translate them into effective data architectures.
- Collaborate with platform architects to ensure all implementations align with our technical standards.
- Identify deficiencies in the current technology environment and propose actionable improvements.
- Build and maintain real-time data pipelines and services using modern engineering techniques.
- Implement continuous integration and deployment for data pipelines, including automated testing.
- Utilize workflow management platforms like Airflow.
- Mentor team members and promote agile practices to improve delivery speed.
- Establish and uphold consistent development standards across the organization.
Must-haves
- At least 3 years of experience with public cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- 3+ years of experience building near real-time data pipelines using tools such as Postgres, Redshift, BigQuery, Hadoop, Teradata, MS SQL Server, Talend, Informatica, PowerBI, or SSIS.
- 3+ years of experience with object-oriented languages like Python, Java, or .Net for streaming analytics.
- 3+ years of experience translating business needs into data models using Erwin.
- 3+ years of experience working within agile teams.
- 3+ years of experience developing MDM solutions.
- Proven ability to write automated unit, integration, and acceptance tests.
- Strong capacity to learn new technologies quickly and apply them effectively.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate, negotiate, and work well within a team.
- Fluency in English.
