Role at a glance

We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join our team as a full-time employee. This is an on-site position based in the United States, specifically supporting the Integrated Joint Fire Center at Camp H.M. Smith, Hawaii. You will play a pivotal role in the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command, helping to fuse data and develop innovative strategies for a major coalition enterprise.

Your impact

• Identify, analyze, and articulate data requirements while providing ontology and quality oversight for USINDOPACOM data assets.
• Develop and validate algorithms and models to extract meaningful insights from extensive data and metadata sources.
• Communicate complex quantitative findings to stakeholders, including senior military officials, through clear documentation and visualization tools.

What you'll need

To be successful in this role, you must hold an active US Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility. We are looking for candidates who possess the following qualifications:

• At least six years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Computer Engineering, or a Master's degree with three years of experience.
• Strong proficiency in data science techniques for extracting and analyzing both structured and unstructured data.
• Technical expertise using tools such as Python, Apache Spark, Elastic Search, and Kibana.
• A collaborative mindset with the ability to work across multiple staff offices to standardize data ingestion and tagging.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Bonus points for experience with AWS, Java, C++, and various API protocols like SOAP.
