At Ladder, we saw how slow and frustrating the life insurance process could be, so we built a digital platform that delivers instant underwriting decisions and has already provided more than $74 billion in coverage. We are now looking for a Data Scientist, Product Analytics to join our growing team and help shape the next generation of our product.
What you'll be doing
- Turn user-behavior data into clear, actionable recommendations that guide feature development and prioritization across the product roadmap.
- Work side-by-side with Product, Engineering, and Design from the first spark of an idea through launch, setting goals, running experiments, and measuring real impact.
- Define the KPIs that matter, build dashboards to track them, and dig into root-cause analysis so the whole company can act on what the numbers reveal.
What you'll bring
- At least three years of hands-on experience running quantitative analyses on large data sets, ideally at a consumer technology company.
- Expert-level SQL skills for querying complex data at scale.
- A strong grasp of statistics and experimentation methods, especially A/B testing, so you can design tests and interpret results with confidence.
- Proven success presenting findings to product and leadership teams in a way that shapes strategy and drives decisions.
- A self-starter mindset: you enjoy owning projects from start to finish, spotting process improvements, and sharing what you learn with teammates.
- Comfort working quickly in a fast-paced environment while building trust across cross-functional teams.
- A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
What you'll get
The base pay range targeted for this position is $120,000 - $160,000 per year. Base pay is determined by market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This role is eligible for equity and the benefits listed below.

- A 401k match of up to 4 percent of your contributions.
- Commuter benefits and free parking when you come into the office.
- A modern Palo Alto office stocked with snacks and catered lunches, plus technology that supports our hybrid team.
- Ten weeks of paid parental leave for all new parents, including adoption and fostering.
- A one-time $500 remote-office stipend when you join, followed by a $150 monthly work-from-home allowance.
- Company-wide virtual and in-person events that give everyone a chance to connect and unwind.
