What is this role?
We are looking for a Senior Data Scientist to join our team on a full-time, remote basis. This position focuses on the pricing and rating algorithms used within our insurance business unit. You will be a key player in refining our risk assessment strategies and ensuring our pricing remains competitive and compliant. This is an ideal role for someone with a strong background in insurance analytics who wants to make a direct impact on our growth and market strategy.
What will you do?
- Develop and enhance predictive models and algorithms specifically for property insurance pricing by utilizing advanced machine learning and statistical techniques.
- Analyze large, complex datasets to uncover trends and correlations that directly influence insurance risk and pricing outcomes.
- Partner closely with our actuaries, product managers, and business stakeholders to translate complex business needs into effective, data-driven analytical solutions.
What makes you a great fit?
To succeed in this role, you should have at least 3 years of experience in developing pricing models, ideally within the homeowners insurance industry. We are looking for someone who brings the following qualifications:
- An advanced degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Computational Science, or Actuarial Science.
- Proficiency in Python or R for data analysis and programming.
- A solid grasp of insurance principles, risk assessment, and actuarial concepts.
- Strong communication skills, allowing you to explain intricate analytical findings to non-technical team members.
- Experience with data manipulation and working with both structured and unstructured datasets.
